JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) The Jacksonville Jaguars exercised contract options on receiver Chris Conley and free safety Jarrod Wilson on Friday, potentially eliminating two areas of need heading into free agency and the draft.
The Jaguars now have Conley under contract through 2020 and Wilson through 2021. Conley is due to make $2 million in base salary this fall, with $1 million of that now fully guaranteed. He will count $2.795 million against the salary car. Wilson will earn $2.45 million in base salary in 2020 and $2.2 million in 2021. He will count $3.08 million and $2.83 million, respectively, against the cap in those years.
Conley had a career year in 2019, finishing with 47 receptions for 775 yards and averaging 16.5 yards a catch. He has 151 receptions for 2,013 yards and 11 touchdowns in five NFL seasons, the first four with Kansas City.
Wilson started all 16 games last season and led the team with 73 tackles and 1,186 snaps. He was one of five NFL players to be on the field for 100% of their team’s defensive snaps. After initially joining Jacksonville as an undrafted rookie in 2016, Wilson has appeared in 63 games with 18 starts.
