ASHBURN, Va. (AP) Washington Redskins left tackle Trent Williams had what coach Jay Gruden called ”a minor” procedure on his knee and is expected to be able to play in the team’s next game.
Gruden said Monday that Williams was scheduled for the ”bursa sac cleanup” during the bye week and should return for Washington’s game at the New Orleans Saints on Oct. 8.
The knee has been ”irritating” Williams for a couple of weeks, Gruden said.
In other injury news, Gruden said that running back Adrian Peterson has a sprained ankle, cornerback Josh Norman has a hamstring issue and right tackle Morgan Moses is in the concussion protocol after getting hurt in Washington’s 31-17 victory over the Green Bay Packers on Sunday.
Gruden said he thinks Peterson will be fine and play against New Orleans.
