Thousands rally, send Patriots off to 3rd Super Bowl in rowBy JIMMY GOLEN

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (AP) The New England Patriots are heading to Atlanta for the Super Bowl after a rally at Gillette Stadium in front of their home fans.

Quarterback Tom Brady and the other Patriots captains, along with coach Bill Belichick, were cheered on Sunday by a rowdy crowd of thousands before boarding buses for the airport. Then it’s off to their third straight Super Bowl, where they will play the Los Angeles Rams.

Fans chanted ”Beat LA!” and waved signs proclaiming Brady the GOAT – Greatest of All Time. The 41-year-old five-time Super Bowl champion led the crowd in a chant of ”We’re Still Here!” and then tossed the microphone before walking off.

Special teams captain Matthew Slater, whose father played for the Rams, said he grew up a Rams fan, ”but on Sunday I don’t know nothing about no Rams.”
