Denver Broncos linebacker Von Miller left Sunday’s game against the Houston Texans with a knee injury and will not return.
After initially saying his return was questionable after an examination in the Broncos’ locker room, Miller was declared out for the remainder of the game.
Miller will likely undergo some additional testing when the Broncos return to Denver, including an MRI on Monday morning.
He was injured on a third-down play midway through the first quarter.
Miller has 33 tackles this season and is tied for second on the team with five sacks.
He missed the first six games of the season because of a suspension for violating the league’s substance abuse policy but has started all nine games since his return.
Miller was the second overall pick in the 2011 draft and won Defensive Rookie of the Year honors.
