Corey Perry banned 4 games

Former Hart Trophy winner Corey Perry was suspended four games by the NHL on Wednesday for his hit in a game Tuesday night.

The Anaheim Ducks’ star winger was given a five-minute major and a game misconduct for his late hit on Minnesota Wild winger Jason Zucker.

Perry, who will forfeit $115,135.12 in salary, also was suspended four games in January 2009 for an elbow to the head of Philadelphia Flyers star Claude Giroux.

Rob Blake of the NHL’s Player Safety Department explained the Perry suspension in a league video released Wednesday.
