Monahan scores 2, Bouma gets winner as Flames beat Canucks

CALGARY, Alberta (AP) – Sean Monahan scored twice, Lance Bouma got the tiebreaker early in the third period, and the Calgary Flames beat the Vancouver Canucks 3-2 Saturday night.

Bouma took a centering pass from David Jones and quickly fired a shot inside the goal post for his 10th goal of the season at 1:41 of the final period. Bouma came into the season with six goals in 121 career games.

Monahan had two goals nearly 5 minutes apart in the second – giving him a team-leading 19 goals on the season – to put the Flames ahead 2-1 with 8:18 to go in the period. Karri Ramo stopped 28 shots.

Ronalds Kenins scored in the first period to put Vancouver ahead, and Linden Vey tied it at 2-2 with 2:17 remaining in the second. Ryan Miller finished with 31 saves.
