DETROIT (AP) The Detroit Red Wings have signed center Luke Glendening to a $7.2 million, four-year extension.
The team announced the deal Thursday. Glendening had a year left on his contract.
Glendening has missed only one game with the Red Wings the last two seasons while averaging just less than 20 points.
The former Michigan star had eight goals and a career-high 21 points last season. He had a career-high 12 goals and 18 points during the 2014-15 season. Glendening played in 56 games when he made his NHL debut during the 2013-14 season, scoring once and adding six assists.
