DETROIT (AP) Dallas boosted its lead in the NHL Central Division with a 4-1 win at Detroit on Sunday, notching their sixth win in seven games.
Elsewhere, New Jersey beat Vancouver in overtime to prevent the Canucks going top of the Pacific Division, Boston won at the New York Islanders and Chicago was too good for Edmonton.
Dallas’ Patrick Sharp and Valeri Nichushkin scored in the first period and the Stars tacked on two empty-net goals.
Detroit goaltender Jimmy Howard stopped 20 shots for the Red Wings before leaving the game midway through the third period after a collision with Dallas center Jason Spezza.
He was briefly replaced before the Red Wings pulled their goalie for an extra skater, leaving the net open for Tyler Seguin to shoot into with 1:08 left. Cody Eakin added another empty-net goal in the final minute.

New Jersey’s Kyle Palmieri scored on the power play with 1:27 left in overtime to give the Devils a 4-3 win against Vancouver.
The Canucks made it 3-3 with consecutive goals by Alexander Edler and Sven Baertschi in the second period.
Adam Henrique, Mike Cammalleri and Sergey Kalinin also scored for New Jersey. The Devils have won eight of 10 since a 0-3-1 start.
Chris Higgins also scored for the Canucks, who lost a third straight game.
Boston’s Ryan Spooner and Patrice Bergeron scored as the Bruins beat the Islanders 2-1 to end a run of three defeats.
Chicago’s Patrick Kane had a goal and three assists to lead the Blackhawks to a 4-2 win against Edmonton.
