Gerardo Parra made a strong first impression with the Washington Nationals in Saturday’s 5-2 victory over the Los Angeles Dodgers with a go-ahead grand slam in the eighth inning. Waived by San Francisco last week, Parra could be in the lineup again on Sunday as the Nationals conclude their four-game series against the host Dodgers.

Max Scherzer allowed two runs over seven innings as the Nationals trailed before scoring five times in the eighth on Juan Soto’s RBI single and Parra’s second career grand slam.
