FLORHAM PARK, N.J. (AP) The New York Jets have placed defensive end Mike Catapano on season-ending injured reserve with a foot injury.
Catapano was signed to the active roster from the practice squad last month. He had a sack in the second quarter of the Jets’ 23-20 overtime win over the Giants last Sunday, but was carted from the sideline shortly after the play.
Coach Todd Bowles said Monday it could be a Lisfranc injury, which involves the small bones or ligaments in the middle of the foot and takes at least several weeks to heal.
The Jets promoted safety Ronald Martin to the active roster Tuesday to replace Catapano.
New York also signed former Green Bay tight end Brandon Bostick to the practice squad. Bostic also spent time with Minnesota and Arizona this season.
