Zuccarello leads Rangers to 4-3 win over Maple Leafs

NEW YORK (AP) Mats Zuccarello scored with 58.3 seconds left to give the New York Rangers their ninth straight win, 4-3 over the Toronto Maple Leafs on Sunday.

Zuccarello also had two assists as New York improved to 14-2-2, the best 18-game start in franchise history in wins and points (30). The Rangers’ winning streak is their third-longest overall and longest since winning 10 straight in the 1972-73 season.

Ryan McDonagh, Derek Stepan and Derick Brassard also scored for New York, and Antti Raanta made 23 saves.

Peter Holland, Joffrey Lupul and Dion Phaneuf scored for Toronto, which snapped a three-game winning streak. Jonathan Bernier stopped 26 shots.

BLACKHAWKS 4, FLAMES 1

CHICAGO (AP) – Patrick Kane scored and had an assist in Chicago’s quick three-goal outburst in the second period, and the Blackhawks beat the Calgary flames 4-1 Sunday night.

Rookie Artemi Panarin and Marian Hossa also scored in the Blackhawks’ 1:55 blitz in the second to help lift Chicago to its second win in two nights and third win its last four contests. Jonathan Toews added an empty-netter with 37.4 seconds left

Kane, who took over the NHL lead in goals (13) and points (28) has scored a goal in seven consecutive games and a point in 13 straight. He has 10 goals and 12 assists during his run to the top of the NHL scoring list.

Chicago backup Scott Darling made 25 saves in his fourth start.

David Jones scored for Calgary, which finished a four-game road trip at 1-3.
